Getting there.
A regular underground metro service runs from the airport to central Madrid. The station is located in Terminal Two and is on line 8 (pink). The single fare is 1.75 EUR. Retiro metro station is on line 2 and is 100 metres from the hotel. An airport bus runs to central Madrid's Plaza de Colon terminal. The bus departs every 10 minutes and tickets cost 2.40 EUR. Taxis to the hotel from airport cost about 30 EUR, including an airport surcharge. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around.
The squares and narrow streets in central Madrid are best explored by foot. An extensive public bus and metro system offers a cheap and efficient way to get around the city. Single tickets can be bought from bus drivers or machines. A 10-trip Metrobus ticket, costing 6.40 EUR, is ideal for those making multiple journeys. Taxis can be hailed on the street and are reasonably priced. Prices are all subject to change.
Driving directions.
Head south out of Barajas airport toward Plaza de Pajarones.
Take the ramp onto the A2.
Take exit 4B for the M-30 and follow signs to A- 3/Valencia.
Follow signs to Av Marqués de Corberá and then Calle de O'Donnell, merging onto O'Donnell.
Turn right at Calle del Doctor Esquerdo, right again onto O'Donnell, left at Calle de Alcalá, and then right onto Plaza de la Independencia. Turn left to stay on the plaza, and then right into Calle de Salustiano Olozaga for the hotel.
