Location.
The Gran Hotel is located in the Panticosa Resort in Tena Valley, in the Aragon Pyrenees, Spain, eight kilometres from the ski resort of Panticosa. The hotel is within 30 kilometres of the Pirenarium theme park and La Margas golf course.
Hotel Features.
Reopened in 2004, this late 19th-century building is part of the Panticosa Resort complex. A thermal spa providing a range of massage, body and facial treatments offers specialist programmes for men and women. The hotel provides a ski shuttle service and an area to store equipment. There is also a newsstand, hair salon and casino in the resort complex. Parking is free.
The Gran Hotel provides a complimentary buffet breakfast and three restaurant options. Restaurant del Lago serves haute cuisine, overseen by three-star Michelin chef Pedro Subijana. On the second level of the casino, international and regional fusions can be tasted in Restaurant Mirador. Restaurant Casino on the ground floor offers international dishes and after-dinner gambling.
Other activities at Gran Hotel include cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Guests are invited to fish on the nearby lake.
Guestrooms.
The 42 guestrooms are decked in maple wood walls and furniture, and decorated with works by contemporary artists. Rooms all face the mountains and Lake Panticosa, and include satellite television, direct-dial phones, desks, minibars, and hair dryers. Bathrooms are fitted with grey and white Macael marble and contain Jo Malone products. Bathrobes and slippers are also included.
Expert Tip. Panticosa is one of the least touristy ski resorts in Spain, with hearty Arogonese cuisine dominating local menus. Recommended specialities are the Pollo al Chilindrón (chicken with red peppers) and fried trout.

Getting there.
The hotel operates a shuttle service (surcharge) from the airport, Zaragoza train station and Huesca train station.
Getting around.
Visitors are recommended to hire a car to explore the mountainous countryside.
Driving directions. From Zaragoza Airport: Take the A23/E7 motorway towards Huesca From Huesca, take the N330/E7 motorway towards Sabiñanigo. Exit at Biescas and join the N260 road. From Biescas, take the A136 to Panticosa. At Panticosa, follow signs to the Panticosa Resort.
